It’s official, after almost 7 years of marriage, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are separating.

Reports from multiple outlets have confirmed that Kardashian has filed for divorce.

The couple have been together since April 2012 and share 4 children together, North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm.

The past year was a tough one for the couple, with West launching his campaign for president whilst struggling with bipolar disorder.

After publishing a series of erratic statements about his family, Kardashian responded on social media.

​

“I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this,” she wrote.

By December, outlets reported a rift between the couple.

A source told People: "They are just not on the same page when it comes to their future as a family, and Kim is okay with it.”
